A network of interconnected nodes, a system comprising the network and a node for the network/system. Each output of the nodes comprises an output buffer, and each node is adapted to inform a node transmitting data to an output buffer, whether the buffer is not full. The transmitting node is adapted to only transmit data when the buffer is not full. Arbitration is only required at the outputs of the node, and guaranteed services may be obtained for data through the network with suitable arbitration. The network and system is especially adapted as a Network on a Chip.
