A reproduction control using an XML and a script is implemented through a network distribution, thereby enabling an event process in a special reproduction such as fast forward or rewind. An A/V reproduction control part acquires a point list in which each of listed events to be generated in reproduction of titles, which are digital contents, is associated with a respective listed event time that is a time at which to generate that event. When the reproduction time of a title, which is being reproduced, has reached the corresponding event time listed in the point list, the A/V reproduction control part generates the event corresponding to the event time. An XHTML processing part acquires a script that is an application program in which an event process is described which is a process corresponding to the event listed in the acquired point list. In accordance with the acquired script, the XHTML processing part executes the event process corresponding to the generated event, and further switches event processes to be executed, dependently on the reproduction state information included in the event.
