A washing machine is provided to damp the vibration caused by the unbalance of a vacant space between the stator and the rotor, and the unbalance phenomenon of the magnetic center by mounting at least one elastic member. A washing machine is composed of: a tub; a rotor rotated on a predetermined rotary shaft; a stator(220) connected with the rotor to generate the rotary force; a combining member(240) for combining the stator with the tub; and an elastic member(250) whose part is supported by the stator to absorb the vibration caused by the operation between the stator and the rotor. The other side of the elastic member is supported by the combining member. The other side of the elastic member is supported by the tub.
