The seat has a seat part and a backrest with associated frames and upholstery, whereby an aperture (20) for accommodating an airbag module (22) covered by the casing is formed in the upholstery for a backrest element. The airbag module is arranged in a bag (24) whose opening edge (26) is joined to the casing by a tear seam (28) in the edge region of the side bead of the backrest. The airbag module together with the bag is covered by a cover.
