PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector, or the like capable of determining a wide range of projection angle. SOLUTION: The projector 100 comprises: an imaging section 110 for capturing a calibration image projected by a projection section 190 and generating captured information 124 to indicate a brightness value in the captured image; a distribution information generation section 131 for generating brightness distribution information indicating the distribution of the brightness value in a target region that is at least one portion of the captured image based on the imaging information 124; a distribution information correction section 132 for correcting the brightness distribution information to generate first correction brightness distribution information, based on a value indicating a difference between reference distribution information indicating the brightness distribution information in a reference environment and first ideal distribution information indicating the brightness distribution information in a first ideal environment; and a horizontal projection angle determination section 133 for determining a projection angle, based on the first correction brightness distribution information.
