PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a telephone system and a charger by which a slave unit is usable in a cordless state even when the slave unit is located in an area where a radio wave from a master unit is completely not received or hardly received. SOLUTION: The master unit having a LAN port and the charger for the cordless slave unit which has a LAN port and a radio function are connected to the same network. The master unit transmits communication data addressed to the slave unit to the charger using the LAN, and the charger transfers the communication data to the slave unit using the radio function that the charger itself has.
