PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a method of manufacturing a transformer which can easily a transformer core having a picture frame shape. SOLUTION: First to third jigs 11 to 15 of a rectangular tube shape provided at their one ends with openings and provided in the other ends with abutment surfaces for abutment with the faces of one ends of first to third leg cores are mounted on one ends of the first to third leg cores respectively to form leg cores 41 to 45 having the first to third jigs. These leg cores with the first to third jigs are erected so that the first to third jigs are positioned at their lower sides, be arranged in a predetermined order with a predetermined spacing, and a third yoke core 57 and a fourth yoke core 59 are formed at the upper-directed other ends to form an E-shaped core 61. The E-shaped core is inverted by an angle of 180 degrees, the first to third jigs are dismounted, coils 63 to 67 are inserted into the first to third leg cores respectively, and thereafter a first yoke core 69 and a second yoke core 71 are formed at one ends of the first to third leg cores of the E-shaped core.
