FIELD: hygiene.SUBSTANCE: disclosed is an absorbent product designed for absorbing liquid discharge of wearer when worn in crotch region, liquid discharge being urination, menstruation or liquid faecal matter. Absorbent article comprises at least one conductive loop in an open loop shape having terminal ends for electrically communicating with opposing poles of an electric potential generator such that current flows around full conductive loop between terminal ends when a space defined within open loop shape is dry and such that liquid discharge in space defined within open loop shape is able to cause a short circuit in conductive loop so that current flows around a reduced impedance path as compared to impedance of full conductive loop. Impedance change is measureable to determine a location relative to terminal ends where liquid discharge has caused short circuit. At least one conducting loop is a first conducting loop. Article further comprises a second similar conducting loop.EFFECT: first and second conductive loops are oriented such that direction in which current travels up an outward leg of respective conductive loop is in substantially opposite direction for first conductive loop as for second conductive loop.17 cl, 3 dwg |
