PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus which obtains an image of a wide dynamic range having appropriate brightness in a high luminance portion whether an electronic shutter or a mechanical shutter is used.SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus 1 comprises: an imaging device 21 for generating image data; a mechanical shutter 17 which controls blocking and passing of subject light; an image processing unit 26 which amplifies each of pixel values of the image data with an equal gain independent of a magnitude of the value; and a CPU 36 which sets a type of a shutter to use, controls the imaging device 21 when an electronic shutter is used, and sets the gain of the amplification by the image processing unit 26 to different values in accordance with which shutter to use.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
