PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device capable of preventing or decreasing display defects in edges of pixel dots caused by leaked light from adjoining pixel dots.SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display device 10 includes: an array substrate 1 on which a signal line 15, a scanning line and a pixel electrode 14 are arranged in an image display region and a resin film 12 is disposed; a counter substrate 2; and a liquid crystal material layer 26 held between the substrates. On the array substrate 1, a linear protrusion 11 extending like a rib along the signal line 15 to cover the signal line 15 is formed of a resin layer that forms the resin film 12, integrated with the resin film 12.
