The present invention relates to a novel compound which is for organic electroluminescent devices and is represented by chemical formula 1, and to an organic electroluminescent device including the same. More specifically, the present invention relates to a novel anthracene-based compound which can be used in organic electroluminescent devices. The present invention further relates to an organic electroluminescent device which includes the same and exhibits outstanding properties including low driving voltage, high light-emitting efficiency, and long lifespan.
