A solid-state image pickup device includes a first unit to convert light into an electrical signal and a second unit to convert light into an electrical signal. The first unit includes a first lens and a first pair of light receiving elements to receive light from the first lens. The second unit includes a second lens and a second pair of light receiving elements to receive light from the second lens. A profile of the second pair of light receiving elements is different in plan view than a profile of the first pair of light receiving elements.

1. An imaging device comprising:
a first pair of light receiving elements configured to receive light through a first lens; a second pair of light receiving elements configured to receive light through a second lens; and a third pair of light receiving elements configured to receive light through a third lens, wherein a light receiving area of the first pair of light receiving elements extend along a first direction, wherein a light receiving area of the second pair of light receiving elements extend along a second direction which is perpendicular to the first direction, and wherein a light receiving area of the third pair of light receiving elements extend along a third direction which is different from the first direction and the second direction.
