Electrode 2 is of Ti and has an external coating of U. Guide pins 3 and 4 at the ends of the electrode are held in guides 5 and 6 of Al 2 0 3 . Pin 3 and guide 5 are drilled through to provide the equalizing apertures 9, 10 &c. A lead 7 is secured in a bore of pin 4. A gas seal 12 is provided adjacent guide 6. Electrode 2 may attain a temperature of 386‹ C. as compared with a chamber operating temperature of 286‹ C. |
