The material is of a suitable foam such as Styropor, treated with a resin in an alcohol solution and dried to evaporate off the alcohol. The tacky foam is exposed to a suspension bed of fireproof granular material, preferably under an electrostatic charge so that the granules adhere to the surface. The resultant material is dried and baked to produce a casting mould which will vaporise freely and leave a casting with a smooth surface. |
