Oil change device for heavy lorries - using automatically reversible pump controlled from cab by driver

The engine sump has two connections to an electrically driven pump which has connection to exchangeable oil containers. When the pump is energised in one direction by a switch it sucks oil from the sump through one connection and delivers into one container. A float switch operates a potentiometer which gives visual indication on the dashboard of how much oil has been taken out. When the pump is energised in the other direction by another switch it fills the sump from the other container which holds fresh oil. A float switch in this container gives visual indication on the dashboard of the quantity of oil put in. The system enables drivers to carry out oil changes in regions with few garages.
