PURPOSE:To adjust the frequency of a quartz oscillator at low cost without using an adjusting element, by performing the frequency adjustment by removing the mass of the tip of an oscillating piece even after sealing the quartz oscillator in a closed container. CONSTITUTION:An airtight terminal connecting with a quartz oscillating piece 1 is sandwiched between closed containers 6 and 7. The glass 3' and metal 4' of this airtight terminal are made rectangular. The container 7 is metal formed in a recess shape and has a rectangular hole at its bottom surface part, and plane glass 8 is joined in the hole. Consequently, a shift in oscillation frequency caused when the oscillating piece 1 is sealed in a vacuum container is eliminated by removing the mass of the oscillator surface by inputting a laser beam from the glass part of the closed container after the sealing. Therefore, it is unnecessary to use an expensive adjusting element after the oscillating piece 1 is mounted, achieving great reduction in cost. |
