The digital processing system includes a processing device which converts the conventional red, green and blue chrominance signals into a luminance parameter, and two independent chrominance parameters existing in a two-dimensional space consisting of the coloured diagram. An additional processor converts the two chrominance parameters into a unique parameter, T. This allows the definition of chrominance in a one-dimensional space. Each value of T corresponds to a number of diagram points to which a value of chrominance corresponds, according to a predetermined chart of colour. An inverse conversion system is able to re-form the individual conventional chrominance signals.
|
