PURPOSE:To certainly permit a user to take notice of such a state that the life of a battery is in close proximity to expiration and to make it possible to lengthen the time before battery capacity is expired, by controlling the driving of a hand for displaying a figure of below one sec. CONSTITUTION:When a battery life signal BLD is L, a 1/20 sec hand 5 always indicates a measuring time during usual measurement and, when the stopping of split display and measurement is ordered, split time and stop time are indicated to stop the sec hand 5 while, when the re-start of the display and measurement is ordered, the content of a 1/20 sec timing counter 16 catches up with the position indicated by the hand 5 whereupon the hand 5 again always indicates the measuring time and, when the zero return of a hand is ordered, the hand is moved at 16Hz until the hand 5 indicates a zero position. In addition, when BLD is H, the hand 5 is controlled by the logical state of the Q1-output of a sec timing counter 26 and stopped at the zero position even during usual measurement when a two-sec signal phi2sec is H. That is, when measurement is started in close proximity to the expiration of battery life, the hand 5 repeats the 20Hz hand motion at every one sec and the stopping at the zero position. |
