摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To measure the direction and velocity of underground water accurately by a method wherein a pressure gas is supplied into an observing element opened on the lower side, so as to form the surface of the underground water, a tracer is discharged onto the water surface, and the movement thereof is observed. CONSTITUTION:An observing element 14 provided with a transparent plate 10 of glass or the like and a collar 12 is employed. A tubular body 16 is fitted in a liquid-tight manner to the center of the transparent plate 10, and it is joined to a gas supply pipe 18 and a tracer discharge pipe 20. The supply pipe 18 is connected with a pressure gas supply unit 22, while the tracer pipe 20 is connected with a tracer discharge unit 24, and a visual unit such as a TV camera 26 is provided above the transparent plate 10. The observing element 14 is put into underground water in a well, a pressure gas is supplied into the observing element 14 and stored down to the lower end of the collar 12, so that the surface 28 of the underground water may be formed. Then, a tracer 30 is discharged onto the surface 28 of the underground water. As the tracer 30, minute floating particles of plastic are used, for instance. By observing the movement of this tracer 30 by means of the TV camera 26, the direction and velocity of the underground water can be measured.</p>
