<p>PURPOSE:To obtain the present compound useful for controlling harmful organisms and regulating growth of useful organisms industrially and advantageously by infecting a phytoecdysteroid-containing plant with a bacterium belonging to the genus Agrobacterium, subjecting the plant to tissue culture and extracting a product from the culture mixture. CONSTITUTION:A leaf of a phytoecdysteroid-containing plant such as Ajuga reptans var. atropurpurea cultivated in a greenhouse is cut, immersed in a culture solution of Agrobaccterium rhizogenes MAFF-03-01724 strain) of the genus Agrobaccterium for 5 minutes, infected with the bacterium, placed on agar, cultivated at 25 deg.C under illumination for 3 days, an induced root is treated by ultrasonic wave in methanol for 2 hours to give the aimed phytoecdysteroid.</p> |
