PURPOSE:To accelerate a printing head to a high speed in a short time and in a short distance without using a high-performance spacing motor by winding spacing motor step-out preventing springs around the ends of shafts holding a carriage base. CONSTITUTION:A carriage base 2 moves leftward by a spacing motor 4 through a gear 11 and spacing belts 3, thereafter compressing springs 6 and comes to a halt. Then, the carriage base 2 accelerates rightward in a moment without the step-out of the spacing motor 4 by the restoring force of the springs 6 and the power of the spacing motor 4 and, meanwhile, a printing is applied to paper by a printing head 1 through a ribbon. After that, the carriage base moves to a right end and, then, decelerates in a moment while compressing the springs 6, stores the kinetic energy thereof into the strain energy of the springs 6, and comes to a stop. Thereafter, the carriage base accelerates leftward at a stroke without the step-out of the motor by the restoring force of the springs 6 and the power of the spacing motor 4 and, meanwhile, a printing is conducted. From now on, a high-speed printing is carried out by repeating the action mentioned above. |
