In a filling machine for producing, for example, single use disposable packages for beverages, packaging containers (1) are displaced between work stations by means of cassettes (15) which are connected to an endless conveyor (11). Each cassette (15) includes volume flaps (17) which are movable between an inactive and an active position, the flaps in the active position reducing the free area in a portion of the cassette so that a packaging container located in the cassette is stabilised and given the desired volume capacity.
