HYDROGEN PRODUCING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a pure hydrogen with a simple and compact structure. SOLUTION: A gaseous hydrogen room 11 is arranged in a shift reaction room 7 of a high temp. shift converter which laminates the shift reaction room 7 packed with a high temp. shift catalyst and a cooling room 9 packed with a filler 10 for accelerating heat transfer through a metal made partition 6, by interposing a partition 12 formed by coating or plating a palladium film 13 permeating only gaseous hydrogen on a porous plate 14. The pure hydrogen is produced by allowing a reformed gas introduced into the shift reaction room 7 to shift-react to generate hydrogen and then by using the palladium film 13 to permeate only hydrogen. The plate type structure makes the device compact.
