PURPOSE:To obtain a longevous ultrasonic motor with high reliability which is capable of promoting driving efficiency greatly and bearing and fixing the ultrasonic motor by providing flanges to the circumferential surface and peripheral surface of a vibrator, holding the flanges by moving bodies from both sides of up and down, and arranging piezo-electric bodies to both surfaces of an elastic body. CONSTITUTION:A vibrator 12 is constituted of an elastic body 9 together with piezo-electric bodies 10 and 11. Flanges 13 and 14 are provided to the circumferential surface and peripheral surface. In addition, moving bodies 15 and 16 are so provided that the flanges 13 and 14 are held by them from both surfaces of up and down of them. In both surfaces of the elastic body 9, an elastic travelling wave having the phase difference of 1/4 wave length in terms of position and time by resultant of each stationary wave is excited by wiring alternately the piezo-electric bodies 10 and 11 to which polarization treatment is made so that the direction of polarization varies every two piezo-electric bodies by using an individual electrode 17 and common electrode 18 to drive the moving bodies. |
