PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal recording medium which is a winding type using a biazially oriented resin film for a support, and on which a curl of winding retention hardly remains after recording in particular. SOLUTION: The thermal recording medium has a thermal recording layer containing a leuco dye and a coloration agent, and a protective layer containing a water-soluble resin, or a water-dispersible resin, and a pigment, both layers being provided on one of faces of a support in order named. A biaxially oriented synthetic resin film having 80-200 μm in thickness, whose Gurley stiffness (TAPPIT 543 pm-84) in the longitudinal direction of the film is 200-400 mN, is used as the support. |
