The endless belt conveyor is used for transporting material such as sand, gravel, coal etc, has a belt (1) which is initially flat. The belt is passed between guide rollers (6) which are so arranged that the belt is curved to form a circular cross-section with the edges of the belt overlapping each other. This curving of the belt cross-section prevents the material being transported from falling off the belt, especially when the conveyor is made to follow a curved path.
