A slideway is defined by a series of juxtaposed panels (1) of a low-friction material, resting on regularly-spaced transverse supports (2) secured to the edges of a collection trough (3). The upper faces of the slideway panels are formed with longitudinal grooves (10) of semi-circular cross-section. The grooves are dimensioned to receive the cables (40,41) of the conveyor mechanism. Each of the transverse supports includes a flat-based notch (20) dimensioned to receive the slideway panels, the lower end faces of which include similarly notched portions to cooperate with the transverse supports. ADVANTAGE - Simple assembly allowing rapid disassembly for cleaning, maintenance etc.
