PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to perform, in an image forming device equipped with an intermediate transfer body, image formation under optimum image- forming conditions corresponding to the characteristic of the intermediate transfer body. SOLUTION: An intermediate transfer belt 6 is provided with a hole 30 for discriminating its characteristic. From a signal outputted according to the identification of the hole 30 detected by a detection sensor 31 the characteristic of the intermediate transfer belt 6 is discriminated by a CPU 32, thereby controlling the image forming conditions so that they have optimum values corresponding to the characteristic of the intermediate transfer belt 6. Thus, irrespective of a characteristic difference between the intermediate transfer belts 6, a satisfactory image can be obtained at all times. |
