<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing apparatus that can prevent deterioration of a fixing belt or a press-contact member from being promoted due to insufficient coating of a lubricant and a leakage or the like of a lubricant applied excessively, by appropriately specifying the characteristics of a lubricant application member. <P>SOLUTION: The lubricating device for the beltlike member includes a beltlike member that is disposed so as to freely rotate, and a liquid lubricant supply member that supplies a liquid lubricant to the internal face of the beltlike member.
