PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst containing only palladium of superior resistance to heat and resistant to aging which can be prepared with good effect in the point of expense, and provided with good conversion rate of hydrocarbon, carbon oxide and nitrogen oxide. SOLUTION: A ternary catalyst containing only palladium of one layer of high activities and resistance to heat contains also at least one kind of very fine cerium/zirconium-mixed oxide, and in some cases, the high dispersion properties of very fine nickel oxide, cerium oxide, zirconium oxide and barium oxide in addition to those of fine and stabilized active aluminum oxide. Palladium is dispersed sufficiently and uniformly in all catalysts. |
