PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a V-grooved base plate for an optical waveguide and a manufacturing method for it, capable of connecting the core end surface of an optical waveguide and the core end surface of an optical fiber with the deviation of±5μm or less and capable of manufacturing a light circuit having a low loss and high reliability by forming V-grooves at a distance equal to the pitch distance of cores of the optical waveguide formed on a quartz base plate and at a constant distance. SOLUTION: In a V-grooved base plate for an optical waveguide in which V-grooves 10 for supporting an optical fiber 13 in order to connect the core end surface of a waveguide 20 to the optical fiber 13 is formed and a manufacturing method for it, an extension range is previously formed on the input and output ends of the waveguide 20, the extension range is cut out into base plate main bodies 1k, 3k, and the V-grooves 10 are formed along cores 4 formed on the base plate main bodies 1k, 3k. |
