PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To optimize ejection characteristics corresponding to the volume of ink drops to be ejected with a simple construction in an ink jet recording head for ejecting ink drops having different volume. SOLUTION: The ink jet recording head 1 has a base 2 having a plurality of energy generating elements 4, and a plate member 20 which is connected to the substrate and has ejection ports 11, 12 formed at positions facing the respective energy generating elements 4. The ejection ports 11, 12 are different in diameter from each other, and the opening area of the ejection ports 12 is smaller than those of the ejection ports 11. With regard to the plate member 10, its orifice face O is inclined toward the bonding face to the substrates 2, and the thickness at the part where the ejection ports 12 are formed is thinner than those of the part where the ejection ports 11 are formed. |
