PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for processing control of a band-like substance capable of easily preventing processing position displacement such as printing position displacement. SOLUTION: This printer 10 comprises two sensors 34, 36 in a running path for running a band-like printing paper 20 thereon such that a detection mark provided in the printing paper 20 can be sensed by the sensors 34, 36. A control part 18 corrects a printing timing in a printing part 14 according to the detection timing difference between the sensors 34, 36. Therefore, the printing part 14 is controlled for executing a printing operation by the printing timing.
