Raw material for the manufacture of panels or profiled workpieces from annual plants is to be stored less expensively while maintaining the quality of the plant parts resulting during harvest and the further processing conducted with simplified equipment. The plant parts (e.g. from flax, straw, hemp, twigs, reed, sugar cane, cotton stalks) are pressed into bales after harvest. The bales are completely wrapped with a liquid-proof, vapour-permeable foil. The wrapped bales are stored until processing. The plant parts can be processed further without additional drying. In order to leave the unuseable plant parts as well as dust, foreign bodies, etc. on the field, the plant parts can be cut open after harvest. The useable plant parts are pressed into bales, wrapped with a foil and stored until processing. |
