The equipment has a switching contact with fixed and movable contact parts. Arc is formed between the parts in an arc prechamber area during a switching-off and enters a current limiting arc quenching device (12) via arc guide rails. A main channel receives and feeds again the leaking gases from an outlet to an inlet of the device for accelerating the gas flow from a point of origin of the arc in the direction of the device.
