The present invention relates to an artificial turf structure comprising a backing sheet provided with fibres of a selected length, the fibres extending upwardly from the upper surface of the backing sheet and an infill layer of a particulate material disposed between the upstanding fibres upon the upper surface of the backing sheet characterized in that the particulate material comprises a granulate having a cylindrical shape with a length/diameter (UD) ratio between 0.8-1.2 and having a substantial uniform particle size.
