An LCD and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to increase a liquid crystal margin width, a space between a spacer and a substrate by forming the spacer within an unevenness part formed on a color filter layer, thereby improving LCD production. An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) includes a first substrate(100), a color filter layer(130), and a first spacer(151). The first substrate is defined as a transparency area and an interception area. The color filter layer is positioned on the first substrate. An unevenness part(P1) is formed in the interception area. The color filter layer includes a black matrix pattern(110) and a color filter pattern(120). The black matrix pattern is formed on the first substrate of the interception area. The color filter pattern is formed on the first substrate of the transparency area. |
