A terminal and a program recording medium are provided to prevent a POS(Point Of Sales) terminal from maliciously using card information read from a customer card by including a function for encrypting the card information read from the customer card to a card reader module of the POS terminal. A communication processor(135) connects a communication channel for transmitting and receiving a payment approval request with a host. The card reader module(130) encrypts payment tool information with an encryption key and provides the encrypted payment tool information to a controller(105) if the payment tool information is read from a payment tool of the customer. The controller generates a payment approval request message including the encrypted payment tool information received from the card reader module and transmits the payment approval request message to the host through the communication processor.
