A manufacturing method of highly pure alpha lithium aluminate is provided to obtain more alpha lithium aluminate economically in a short time and to improve the strength of the aluminate by preventing aggregation of the alpha lithium aluminate particles. A manufacturing method of highly pure alpha lithium aluminate comprises steps of: mixing Al(OH)3 and LiOH in a molar ratio of 0.5:1 to 2:1; primarily heating the mixture at 500-700deg.C; and secondarily heating the mixture at 600-800deg.C in CO2 atmosphere. The mixture optionally comprises at least one material selected from glycerine and triethyleneglycol. For the primary heating, the temperature is raised in a rate of 3-6deg.C/min, and the raised temperature is maintained for 4-8 hours. For the secondary heating, the temperature is raised in a rate of 3-6deg.C/min, and the raised temperature is maintained for 18-30 hours.
