PLASMA DISPLAY AND DRIVING METHOD THEREOF

A plasma display apparatus and a driving method thereof are provided to improve an erroneous discharge by executing a stable address discharge through the compensation of wall charges. A plasma display apparatus includes first and second electrodes, and third electrodes formed to cross with the first and second electrodes. The temperature of the plasma display apparatus is detected. An erroneous discharge preventing period is executed between reset and address periods when the temperature of the plasma display apparatus is higher than a determined temperature. In the erroneous discharge preventing period, a first voltage(Vs1) higher than a voltage applied to the second electrodes is applied to the first electrodes during a first interval and the voltage of the first electrodes is decreased from a second voltage to a third voltage(Vnf) during a second interval(II).
