A method and an apparatus for displaying broadcasting information in a broadcasting receiver are provided to allow a user to check various types broadcasting information displayed on a screen through caption while viewing a recorded broadcasting program. If an EPG(Electronic Program Guide) caption generation mode is selected, a picture for receiving selection items is displayed(S23). An EPG caption file is generated and stored according to input information selected and set through the picture(S24). If a record menu for a broadcasting program corresponding to the generated EPG caption file is selected, the broadcasting program including the EPG caption file is recorded(S26).
