A rear electrode type solar cell using a thin film type substrate is provided to connect electrically a semiconductor substrate with a second electrode by using a contact hole formed at an insulating layer positioned between the semiconductor substrate and the second electrode. A semiconductor substrate(10) includes a first surface and a second surface opposite to the first surface. An emitter part(12) is formed on the first surface. A first electrode(18) is electrically connected to the emitter part and is formed at the second surface. A second electrode(20) is electrically connected to the semiconductor substrate and is formed at the second surface. An insulating layer(16) is positioned between the semiconductor substrate and the second electrode. The insulating layer includes a contact hole for connecting electrically the semiconductor substrate with the second electrode. |
