PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high efficient protective film for a polarizing plate which is excellent in adhesion to a polyvinilalcohol film membrane and which can be easily adhered to a polyvinilalcohol film used as a polarizer and which can be produced in a process which is safe for working and does not give undesirable influence to the environment, to provide a polarizing plate using the same, and to provide a method for producing a cellulose ester film having excellent recycling properties. SOLUTION: The method for producing a cellulose ester film is characterized in that cellulose ester separated from a polarizing plate using a cellulose ester film subjected to plasma treatment is reused as the whole or a part of the raw material.
