PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid ink jet output method employing a thermally fusible ink in which highly precise monochromatic and color outputs can be obtained through a relatively simple structure. SOLUTION: An outputting medium 26 produced by providing a foamable polyethylene layer on the surface of a polyethylene basic material is heated up to the melting point of ink by means of a heater 22. Three color inks of yellow, magenta and cyan are jetted, respectively, by ink jet heads 16, 18, 20 toward the polyethylene layer to permeate the polyethylene layer. Subsequently, the outputting medium 26 is cooled down by means of a radiator 24 and the air in the foamable polyethylene layer is contracted. According to the method, a sufficient quantity of thermally fusible ink can be absorbed into the outputting medium 26. |
