PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing a hydrogen storage alloy powder excellent in preservability and handling property and also to provide a nickel- type hydrogen storage alloy secondary battery cathode having high capacity and excellent in initial activity. SOLUTION: The hydrogen storage alloy ponder is produced by applying acid treatment and/or alkali treatment to a crushed hydrogen storage alloy and then subjecting it, after or simultaneously with the above treatments, to treatment with a solution containing at least one compound selected from the group consisting of phosphate, phosphorous acid or phosphite, hypophosphorous acid or hypophosphite, and condensed phosphate. Further, the electrode is obtained by using this hydrogen storage alloy powder. |
