PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dissolve a polyfluorovinylidene resin in an org. solvent homogeneously in a short time to thereby efficiently obtain a binder soln. for nonaq. batteries by dispersing a polyvinylidene fluoride resin powder in a poor solvent and then stirring the resultant dispersion in a good solvent. SOLUTION: A polyvinylidene fluoride resin powder is dissolved in an org. solvent by dispersing the powder in a poor solvent and then stirring the resultant dispersion in a good solvent. The resin is a homo- or copolymer of vinylidene fluoride and pref. has an intrinsic viscosity of 0.85-20 dl/g. A pref. poor solvent has a b.p. of about 130 deg.C or lower, examples being tetrahydrofuran, acetone, and dimethyl carbonate. A nitrogen-contg. polar solvent (e.g. N-methyl-2- pyrrolidone or dimethylformamide) is suitable as the good solvent. |
