PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a superconducting wire which achieves excellent mechanical characteristics.SOLUTION: A superconducting wire includes: a first superconducting wire rod having a first front surface, a first rear surface opposite to the first front surface, a first superconducting layer, and a first reinforcement layer; a second superconducting wire rod having a second front surface, a second rear surface opposite to the second front surface, a second superconducting layer, and a second reinforcement layer; and a connection member which joins the first superconducting wire rod to the second superconducting wire rod. The first superconducting wire rod has a first end part in which at least a first front surface side part of the first reinforcement layer is removed. The second superconducting wire rod has a second end part in which at least a second front surface side part of the second reinforcement layer is removed. The first front surface positioned in the first end part is joined to the second front surface positioned in an area other than the second end part by the connection member. The second front surface positioned in the second end part is joined to the first front surface positioned in an area other than the first end part by the connection member.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
