PURPOSE:To obtain a homogeneous and firm electrode with a long cycle life and high profitability and capable of thoroughly exerting the battery positive electrode active material performance by kneading an active material and the required fine powder in an organic solvent and molding the mixture. CONSTITUTION:In an electrode using metal oxide or metal chalcogen compound capable of inputting or outputting alkali metal electrochemically as an active material, the active material and the fluororesin fine powder such as poly-ethylene tetrafluoride are kneaded in an organic solvent, then the mixture is molded into the electrode by the normal molding method such as the pressure molding. The unsoluble or unmeltable powder or the powder decomposed at a high temperature can be used in this method, and the electrode with the good dispersibility and high strength is quickly formed without impairing the state of the powder. As a result, the homogeneous and firm electrode with a long cycle life and high profitability and capable of thoroughly exerting the battery positive electrode active material performance is formed. |
