PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adhesive composition constituting an adhesive layer having excellent stress relaxing property and durability and developing a sufficiently low haze, to provide an adhesive layer constituted from the above adhesive composition, to provide an adhesive sheet and an optical member with an adhesive layer including the above adhesive layer, and to provide an image display device including at least one of the above optical member with an adhesive layer.SOLUTION: The adhesive composition of the present invention comprises a (meth)acrylic polymer and a polyrotaxane having a cyclic molecule, a linear molecule penetrating an opening of the cyclic molecule, and a blocking group disposed at both terminals of the linear molecule so as to prevent detachment of the cyclic molecule from the linear molecule. The (meth)acrylic polymer includes a structural unit derived from a monomer having no aromatic cyclic structure and a structural unit derived from a monomer having an aromatic cyclic structure.SELECTED DRAWING: None
