1,140,381. Screw-and-nut gearing. ROTAX Ltd. 17 May, 1966 [31 May, 1965], No. 23031/65. Heading F2Q. In ball-type screw-and-nut gearing, two nuts 12, 13 on a threaded shaft 10 are axially located within a housing 17 and are interconnected by a coupling sleeve 23 by means of which relative angular adjustment of the nuts 12, 13 may be effected to eliminate backlash. The nuts 12, 13 abut each other, nut 13 engages a shoulder 19 in the housing 17, and nut 12 is engaged by a threaded ring 20. A pin 21 prevents rotation of nut 13. The coupling sleeve 23 comprises two series of teeth, differing in number, adapted to engage corresponding toothed portions on the respective nuts 12, 13. |
